Black Forest Hill originated 21 years ago. It was started by a German gentleman who wanted to share the clock making traditions from the Black Forest Region of South West Germany. Today the business resembles even the best of any shop you would visit in Germany. There are 1000’s of different Cuckoo Clocks and almost 100 German Grandfather Clocks on display. There is a variety of wall, mantle and even modern quartz clocks available. Souvenirs and many other exquisite European gifts compliment the display.

The shop recently changed hands and continues to uphold the traditions. With regular clock shipments from Germany we saw the need to have an in-house repair facility. In keeping with tradition we made arrangements for a true German Master Clockmaker to immigrate to Australia. The Clockmaking trade in Germany is still a popular skill, whilst in Australia it has become a dying art since the introduction of the modern quartz clock movement. Many people have literally given up trying to find somewhere to have their old mechanical clock repaired properly.

Black Forest Hill Grandfather and Cuckoo Clock Centre is located just 15 minutes drive north of Toowoomba on the road to Crows Nest. Located on the edge of the Great Diving Range, it's a comfortable two hour drive west of Brisbane and is one of many tourist attractions in the area. Come and see all the wonderful clocks. Enjoy a German experience! We are open 7 days (8.30am to 5.00pm Mon – Fri  and  9.30am to 4.00pm Sat & Sun).
